Meet the team

Philippa Ditton-Phare
Philippa has been singing for as long as she can remember. As a kid she discovered a love of harmonies, performing throughout the world in a choir, and later spending several years in London recording, writing and working as a session vocalist.

After returning home, Philippa continued performing in bands, theatre and duos, and has enjoyed many musical adventures both on stage and in the studio.
She brings to Bella Voce a deep love of harmony, a background in classical and contemporary singing, and the simple joy of making music with others.
Bella Voce feels like coming home to the kind of ensemble singing she loves most - rich, layered harmony with wonderful humans.
Simone Collins
From the young age of 5 through to now, Simone has been singing, through singing lessons, choirs, competitions, church leadership and ensembles.
There has never been a time in life when Simone was not somehow infused with music all around her through her very musical family and community choirs.
Bella Voce began in 2010 with Simone inviting a group of friends to come and sing for families in the lounge room at Christmas time and they have been singing together ever since.
One of the greatest joys for Simone is being able to create sublime harmonies with her chocolate, velvety alto voice.
Wendy Ranger
Born into a family where everyone could sing well, Wendy’s passion for singing and music was already evident at 3 yrs of age when she could often be heard singing along to the latest hits on the radio.
Always a part of any musical endeavour happening at school, she began singing lessons at age 12 and joined a choir around the same time.
This ignited an almost obsessive love of singing which carried her through high school, university and beyond.
These days Wendy finds the most joy in singing and arranging music for Bella Voce, and is loving rediscovering her high soprano notes.

Ann Robertson
Ann has been singing for as long as she can remember. Childhood memories of singing out melodies and harmonies in the car, only to be told ‘Don’t sing unless you know the words…’ from loving siblings of course!
Ann started singing in church and progressed to choirs from 8 years old. Singing was her creative outlet and enabled her to express herself when all words failed. Ann’s love of music grew throughout school and a desire to share that joy took her to teaching music, both here in her hometown of Newcastle and London Uk.
After returning in 2012, Ann continued teaching, retraining to primary education but continued conducting choirs in school and the community.
In 2019, Ann was thrilled to be invited to sing with Bella Voce and hasn’t looked back! Such a special group to sing with and share that love of singing with our wonderful audiences.
Simeon Davidson
Simeon grew up surrounded by music, with a mum who played piano, and a dad who played rock and roll guitar. So the dice fell to a piano in his case, with plenty of time learning classical and playing in church. Fast forward a decade or three, and while loving seeing his children sing solo and in choirs, there was a “what about me?” moment!

The resulting few years of singing Barbershop in a chorus and quartet was a great period of musical expansion.
During that time there was a bit of friendly competition with Bella Voce, the ultimate outcome being an invitation to join the ensemble in 2025.
